Information - Settling In

Settling In and visits

It is important to me that firstly your child is content and settled and that secondly you are happy and have no anxieties about the care I will provide.  I understand that all children are different and some children may take longer to settle than others whilst some settle quickly initially then may become unsettled a few weeks later.  I am happy for you to stay with your child as long as you feel it is necessary for you to feel that they are happy, settled and enjoying themselves!

I like to arrange settling in visits, as these allow children time to settle and get use to their new environment.  These visits benefit everyone as a whole.  They will allow you to provide me with lots of valuable information about your child, for example their likes and dislikes, allergies, how to comfort them when they are upset, favourite things.  These visits are also a starting point for me to build a relationship with yourself and your child.

I am happy for you to call me during the day to see how your child is doing and to discuss any concerns you might have.  I would always phone you if your child was distressed and couldn’t be settled.
